  • olive or avocado oil
  • vegetables – onion and garlic.
  • seasonings and spices: paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and pepper.
  • BBQ sauce – make your BBQ sauce or get it from the store.

To begin, fry the onion and garlic for about five to ten minutes. After adding the jackfruit and spices, the meal is almost like a dry BBQ rub. Slice the jackfruit in half lengthwise, then slice each half twice to make four pieces.
If you want to eat the jackfruit, you’ll need to slice off the white core at the center of each quarter. To eat them later, roasted them. Break the jackfruit into smaller pieces.

  • For ten minutes, sauté young jackfruit in onions and garlic.
  • Cover with barbecue sauce and place in a slow cooker.
  • To make homemade sauce, simply blend ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • During the six-hour cook time, you should be able to shred the jackfruit easily.
  • Serve with slaw on a bun.
